Claude Duet (Anthropic, research preview since Oct 21, 2026) and Grok Bot (xAI, early beta since Aug 2026) run on their own cloud computer and keep working after you close the app. Both ask for approval before they act. Neither is sold as a separate product. Each is included in a consumer subscription, so the price is the price of the plan that unlocks it.
This page lists what each plan costs, who can get access today, what is known about usage limits, and what the same money buys at API list prices. Plan prices come from the subscription catalog on this site and model rates from the pricing catalog. Each fact links to the vendor page it was read from.
Short answer
- Claude Duet has no price of its own. It is included in Claude Pro ($20.00 a month) and Claude Max ($100.00 or $200.00), by waitlist and for US accounts first.
- Grok Bot is included in Grok Premium ($30.00 a month), Super ($100.00) and Ultra ($200.00), and in eligible Teams and Enterprise plans. Super and Ultra raise the weekly Grok Bot allowance to 3.5× and 12× the Premium level.
- Neither vendor publishes an absolute usage cap. Claude Duet draws on the same limits as the rest of Claude, and Grok Bot's allowance is stated only as multiples of a base tier.
- Lowest entry price: Claude Pro at $20.00 a month for Claude Duet, Grok Premium at $30.00 a month for Grok Bot.

Claude Duet: price and usage limits
Anthropic describes Claude Duet as a proactive agent for professionals and small business owners. It sends a short brief each morning, checks connected accounts every few hours, and works on assigned tasks in a virtual machine, so your phone or laptop does not need to stay on. During the research preview it is included in Pro and Max at no extra charge and uses the same usage limits as the rest of Claude.
Plans that include Claude Duet
| Plan | Monthly price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Pro | $20.00/mo, or $16.67/mo on annual billing | Official page |
| Claude Max 5x | $100.00/mo | Official page |
| Claude Max 20x | $200.00/mo | Official page |
Anthropic says the background checks count toward the plan's limits, which is why Claude Duet checks every few hours instead of continuously. Larger jobs, such as a financial model or a slide deck, take more model turns and use more of the allowance than a typical conversation. No absolute number of Claude Duet tasks or tokens is published, so the practical limit depends on how much background work you assign.
Access is by waitlist and starts with Pro and Max users in the US. The announcement covers those accounts only and gives no date for other plans or regions.
Claude Duet is designed around Claude Opus 5.5. Anthropic's API lists Opus 5.5 at $4.00 input and $20.00 output per 1M tokens, with cache reads at $0.20. That is below Claude Opus 5 at $5.00 and $25.00.
Grok Bot: price and usage limits
xAI describes Grok Bot as AI teammates that sign in to your tools, use them the way you would and return finished work. Each Bot runs on its own cloud computer, several Bots can work in parallel, and a workflow you demonstrate once can be saved as a routine that runs on a schedule.
Plans that include Grok Bot
| Plan | Monthly price | Grok Bot usage | What changes | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grok Premium | $30.00/mo | Weekly allowance (1×) | Grok Bot with its own computer, sign-in to your tools and scheduled routines | Official page |
| Grok Super | $100.00/mo | 3.5× Premium | Priority model access at peak times | Official page |
| Grok Ultra | $200.00/mo | 12× Premium | Earliest access to all products and models | Official page |
xAI states usage as multiples, not absolute numbers. The Grok Bot page gives Super as 3.5× and Ultra as 12× Premium. The pricing page uses Plus as the base instead: Premium at 4× and Super at 15× Plus, which works out to 3.75× between Premium and Super. The two pages do not share a base, and Ultra appears only on the Grok Bot page.
Grok Bot is also included in eligible Teams and Enterprise plans. The pricing page lists a Plus tier at $8.00 a month, but shows Grok Bot from Premium upward.
The Grok Bot page does not name the model behind it, and the pricing page says Premium includes the latest Grok models. The newest Grok model in this site's catalog is Grok 4.7, released Sep 21, 2026 and listed at $2.00 input and $6.00 output per 1M tokens on xAI's API.
What the plan fee buys at API list prices
A plan fee can be converted into tokens at a model's API price. This is a unit conversion and not an allowance, because neither vendor publishes how many tokens a plan includes. The table uses the blended price this site uses everywhere (75% input, 25% output) and ignores cache discounts, which lower the cost of agent loops that reread the same context.
| Plan | Monthly fee | Reference model | Blended price per 1M | Tokens at list price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Pro | $20.00 | Claude Opus 5.5 | $8.00 | 2.5M |
| Claude Max 5x | $100.00 | Claude Opus 5.5 | $8.00 | 12.5M |
| Claude Max 20x | $200.00 | Claude Opus 5.5 | $8.00 | 25M |
| Grok Premium | $30.00 | Grok 4.7 | $3.00 | 10M |
| Grok Super | $100.00 | Grok 4.7 | $3.00 | 33.33M |
| Grok Ultra | $200.00 | Grok 4.7 | $3.00 | 66.67M |
Read the last column as the monthly volume at which API spend on that model would equal the fee. The Claude plans also cover chat and Claude Code, so only part of the fee is attributable to Claude Duet. Test your own volume with the subscription vs API calculator and the cost calculator.
Why background work changes the math
A chat plan is used when you type. These agents also use it when you do not. Claude Duet checks connected accounts every few hours, and Anthropic says checking continuously would use up plan limits much faster. Grok Bot runs routines on a schedule and can run several Bots at once, which xAI describes as working 24/7.
Two things then decide how much of an allowance is used: how many connected apps or scheduled routines are active, and how large each task is. Anthropic names financial models and decks as heavier jobs. xAI's tiers differ mainly in the weekly Grok Bot allowance, so the number of Bots you keep busy is the practical reason to move up.
Before paying for a higher tier, check what the agent does in the background. List the active routines and connected accounts. Claude Duet lets you set what it reports and how often.
Other always-on agents
Two other consumer agents follow the same design: a cloud computer that keeps working after you leave. Both were announced before Claude Duet.
| Agent | Maker | Announced | Where it is included |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT dots | OpenAI | Sep 29, 2026 | ChatGPT Pro from $100.00 a month and Business Premium, in eligible markets |
| Meta Muse | Meta | Sep 2026 | Free for most use with paid plans, in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai. Press reports cite paid plans at $20 and $100 a month, which Meta's announcement does not list |
Which one fits
- You are on Claude Pro or Max in the US and want an assistant tied to your Claude memory, skills and connectors: Claude Duet adds no charge during the preview and runs inside your current limits.
- You want several agents working in parallel, routines taught by demonstration, or a desktop app: Grok Bot, from $30.00 a month.
- You are comparing price alone: Claude Pro at $20.00 is the lower entry point, but Claude Duet is waitlisted and US-first. Grok Premium at $30.00 includes Grok Bot, and xAI's page offers it for download with the plan.
